Pathfinder LZ ("the app") is developed and operated by Apex AR Systems, LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not collect, how information is handled, and your choices.

We built Pathfinder LZ to keep your information on your device. We do not operate a server for this app, we do not have accounts or logins, and we do not track you.

The short version

• We have no account system and no server. Everything you create in the app — saved landing zones, photos, notes, and your user/unit identifier — is stored only on your device.
• We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information.
• We do not use analytics or advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
• The app requests live weather, terrain elevation, and map data by sending a map coordinate to third-party data providers (see below). These are one-way requests for public data.
• You control what you share. Information leaves your device only when you choose to share a landing-zone brief, image, or note.

Information stored on your device

The following are created and stored locally on your device only, and are not transmitted to us:

• Saved landing zones, including coordinates, hazards, surface, description, and related data
• Photos you take in the app or import, and notes you enter
• Your user/unit identifier — an optional text field you may enter (name, unit, callsign, or ID) that auto-fills into your briefs
• App preferences — theme, coordinate/grid format, units, mission profile, map overlays, and downloaded offline map regions

You can permanently delete this information at any time using the Reset App Data option in the app's Settings.

Location

The app uses your device's location to show your position on the map and to display coordinates and terrain information for the point you are working with. Location is used on your device to operate the app.

We do not transmit your device's location to us, and we do not store a record of where you have been.

Please note: if you choose to capture or share a map image or landing-zone picture that happens to show your own position marker on screen, that image will contain that visual information. The app does not label or transmit your personal position as data; only the landing-zone point you are planning is included in shared briefs.

Camera and photos

If you use the in-app camera or select photos, those images are stored on your device and attached to the relevant landing zone. They are not uploaded to us. They leave your device only if you choose to share them.

Third-party data providers

To provide live and map data, the app sends a map coordinate (not your identity, not an account, not your device location history) to the following third-party services and receives public data in return:

• Mapbox — provides the map imagery and map data. Mapbox may collect certain usage and location telemetry through its software. Mapbox's own attribution and data-collection notice, including an opt-out control, is available within the app via the map's information ("i") button. Mapbox's privacy practices are governed by Mapbox's own privacy policy.
• National Weather Service (NWS / NOAA) — provides weather information for a queried coordinate. NWS is a U.S. government service.
• U.S. Geological Survey (USGS 3DEP) — provides terrain elevation for a queried coordinate. USGS is a U.S. government service.

The app also includes FAA airport and heliport data (FAA NASR), which is bundled with the app and, when you choose to check for updates, may be downloaded as a public data file. No personal information is sent to obtain this data.

These requests are made to retrieve public information. We do not send your personal information, your identity, or your saved content to these providers.

What we do NOT do

• We do not collect your personal information.
• We do not operate a server that stores your data.
• We do not require or offer an account or login.
• We do not use analytics or advertising software.
• We do not track you across apps or websites, and the app does not present an App Tracking Transparency request because it does not track you.
• We do not sell or share your information with third parties.

Subscriptions

Pathfinder LZ offers an auto-renewing subscription with a free trial. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information; Apple handles all payment processing under Apple's own privacy policy. We receive from Apple only the information necessary to confirm your subscription status.

Children's privacy

Pathfinder LZ is a professional planning tool intended for adult operational users. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices and control

• Delete your data: Use Reset App Data in Settings to permanently remove your saved landing zones, photos, notes, user/unit identifier, and downloaded offline maps from your device.
• Location: You can control the app's access to location in your device's system Settings.
• Mapbox telemetry: You can opt out via the map's information ("i") button in the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this page with an updated effective date.
